Magnom™ customer Formflo produce transmission syncro rings for a range of manufacturers.

Part of their production process is a patented cold rolling process during which small ferrous particles are produced which contaminate the rolling fluid and find their way into the bearings on the machines. This results in a loss of production and downtime.

Magnom Clear 10 in cold rolling plantInitially a Magnom™ unit was fitted to one machine to reduce the usage of consumable filter media, the increasing cost of which, (without the disposal costs), had become prohibitive.

In the first instance a Magnom™ Clear 5 unit was fitted which filled very rapidly, resulting in the need for more frequent cleaning than was anticipated. To extend the interval between cleaning the Clear 5 was replaced with a Magnom™ Clear 10 Unit.

Magnoms™ have now been fitted to all 9 cold rolling lines and due to the success in that application its usage is being extended to the broaching machines within the factory.
